I’m not a big fan of pro football, but I am a fan of football food. Since the biggest football party of the year is this Sunday, I had to research what types of awesome appetizers I might like to blow my diet on. (BTW, what is up with the girly, purplish-blue Superbowl web site? Trying to cash in on Mardi Gras? Let each holiday have its day, please.)

So here is my epic Pinterest list of #superbowl snacks.

Taco Cupcakes from The Stir

Taco Cupcakes from The Stir. Not too labor intensive and full of vitamins T, A, C and O. Yumm.

Spinach Dip in a Cob Loaf

Spinach Dip in a Cob Loaf from BigOven. You get your folic acid with the spinach, and I’m not sure what a cob loaf is but I’ll eat any kind of bread, all day every day.

Beer Pretzel Dip

Beer Pretzel Dip, also from BigOven, although I’ll probably serve it with veggies to make it, you know, healthy. I’m also thinking about inventing my own beer dip with Guinness, caramelized onions and some sort of cheese, mainly because it gives me an excuse to drink a Guinness.

Hot Crab Dip

Hot Crab Dip, also from BigOven. (I was on a BigOven kick, ok?) Although I’m sure it would be even better with real crab meat, I’m not sure you want to waste the good stuff in a cheesy dip. Imitation will work just fine.

Swinging ’60s Fondue Party

Swiss Fondue from Better Homes and Gardens. My in-laws have a fondue pot that is originally from the ’60s, and it looks like so much fun I have to try it. And for original recipes, nothing works better than Better Homes and Garden. I have inherited the recipe book that belonged to my husband’s grandmother, and I love it.

And if that’s not enough to whet your appetite and cheer on your favorite team, (Go blue! Go white! Who’s playing again?) here is another pin with 25 mouthwatering apps from one of my favorite blogs, the36thavenue.

Drool

Those mushrooms look delicious. So what will you be serving up? If you want to tell me who you’re rooting for, go ahead. But I can’t promise any informed debates. At least not on my end :)
